Join the Love Scarf Project!

The Love Scarf Project was created in honor of Robbie Seidman, who died of leukemia at City of Hope Hospital in 2003. While in the hospital, Robbie had many visitors. However, Robbie’s friend Bridgett noticed that many other patients had few, if any visitors. She created the Love Scarf Project and got her friends to knit scarves to be personally delivered to patients at City of Hope during the Holidays, to let these patients know that they were thought of and loved.

The Love Scarf Project is now a bicoastal project with scarf and cap deliveries in NYC (headed by Robbie's brother, Leon) and LA (headed by Robbie's close friend, Bridgett). If you are interested in joining the project, check out the details:

NYC Love Scarf Project

During the week of December 13, 2010 the Lovescarf Project will be delivering knit scarves and caps to cancer patients at New York Presbyterian Hospital .

Last year we were proud to deliver approximately 150 scarves and caps at New York Presbyterian Hospital , not only to patients staying at the hospital, but also to those getting out-patient treatment. We can both say firsthand how much these items, and our short visit to each patient, was appreciated.

So, if you knit, please consider knitting something. You can even form a Knitting Club. If you don’t knit, send this to someone who does. Last year the Knitzvah Circle of our temple, Temple Israel of New York , knitted over 40 scarves for us.

We will be sending additional information and reminders soon. For now please start knitting.
